Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing a space for students to be creative is a definite need at my school. Students need a safe space to create and build in a non-technology way to use their hands and minds to create their projects.

By utilizing a wall in the library, that allows me to take advantage of learning space that was underutilized before.

Sparking interest in building using Legos to create also appeals to both kinesthetic and spatial learners as well as providing a safe place from creativity to thrive.

I have shelving to store the Legos for the space but could also use some Lego tables to offset the space and solidify the boundaries of the area.

My school is a 1:1 iPad school. I have seen that hands-on learning using manipulatives, and creativity in the curriculum is needed to reach all students and decrease screen time. Providing this opportunity to create and build with Legos will engage students in a way that they do not receive otherwise.
