Our second grade class is a diverse group of characters. In the classroom, we tap into that diversity to create a place where students feel safe, respected, loved, and encouraged.
This year our main focus has been on the basics.
Having been out of school for six months, we have been filling in gaps and working hard to get up to grade level. We have students that are distance learning as well as students in class daily.
It’s time for some fun. Adding art projects to support academics and just for fun would be a great addition to our learning.
Having materials that support curriculum, foster critical thinking and creative juices, allow for experimentation and discovery, and help students feel successful, even if they struggle in academic areas. It will help produce confident students.
My Project
As soon as a child is told that they get to paint, their eyes light up. Telling a student that can illustrate a story that they've read instead of just writing about it, they are ecstatic! The paint will allow students to not only represent their learning through paint, but they will also be able to just have fun painting pictures with it.
