My Students

Most students visit me in the STEM Lab where they are working on projects and challenges in the areas of mechanics and structures, digital communications, circuitry, software engineering, and robotics. In the lab I strive to make learning experiences engaging and meaningful with a shifted focus from teacher-led projects to student-driven work.

My students are creative and curious learners who have been impacted by the pandemic.

There are many rewards of teaching, but my favorite thing is getting to see the world through the eyes of my students every day. I love to see them excited about learning, and I love the look on their faces when they find success after tackling a difficult task.

My Project

The requested materials will give my students hands-on ways to learn about coding and robotics while gaining experience with 21st century skills. Students will:

* use critical thinking skills and creativity to problem solve

* explore the engineering design process

* learn appropriate computer science skills and terminology

* develop communication skills as they learn to work collaboratively with others

* explore coding skills, sequencing, and programing fundamentals

OSMO Coding Starter Kit

Learning games where students interact with physical blocks to create coding commands to control a character or create music.

Code and Go Mouse Activity Set

This kit provides a screen free, hands-on way to learn programming basics. It comes with a programmable robotic mouse, 30 double sided coding cards, 10 double sided activity cards, 16 maze grids, 22 maze walls, and 3 tunnels.
