Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hungry to learn and use technology to advance their own knowledge and skills. Being from a rural town, that thrives on agriculture, doesn't stop our youth from wanting the chance to explore and grow in creative ways.
We are creating spaces in our schools to give kids the opportunity Grow and Learn Together (GALT).
Having opportunities to explore creative technology engages my students. I want to create projects for them to challenge their practices of being consumers of technology, to creators of technology.
They can do amazing and creative things, given the resources to do so.
My Project
My students have been hard at work, learning to code this year. They have worked through coding curriculum to help them become more proficient at computer science. Many students have learned that the world of computer sciences can take many shapes.
Robots in the classroom will encourage them to push their creativity and coding skills, even farther.
Learning to create code to physically move a robot will be an exciting challenge for them.
Where will their robots travel and how will they get there? What adventures will they take? We will play and discover together the power of the robots (and the students)!
