My Students

"Oh, the places you will go," was stated by Dr. Seuss. This describes our classroom because we are independent thinkers. We want to take our minds and bodies to places we would not usually go.

I have 30 students who are eager to learn and ready to take on new challenges.

They love to work together to solve problems. They like working with their hands and building things. Eighty five percent of our students receive free or reduced price lunch.

My Project

The materials I'm requesting are the Osmo Coding Systems. My students will be using the Coding Osmo during their center time. They will be working in small groups using their critical thinking skills in order to program their Osmo to follow commands. Small group learning promotes collaboration and respect among students. Students will arrange and manipulate command blocks to signal the character on the iPad screen to follow the given commands.

Introducing technology in this form will provide my students with early exposure to skills needed in today's society.

This will prepare them for more complex coding in later grades.
