My Students
I teach in a Title I funded, public elementary school with about 500 students. My students come from very low income communities. Many students are eager to learn and interact daily at school; however, COVID-19 has put a stop to our engagement with students. It is my hope that through DonorsChoose, we can offer as much personal attention to each child's needs as possible.
This will be the first time some of my tiger cubs will be in a classroom environment and they are excited to come back!
My students are new learners and full of potential, but the poverty level is high with 100% of our population qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch.
Personally, I take time to get to know each child in my classroom as a whole person. My goal throughout the year is to understand their academic strengths and weaknesses as well as their character strengths and weaknesses. I love being their friend, teacher, and hopefully a role model.
My Project
In PreK, we strive to help students learn what the weather is outside, their birthdays, and how to dress for the weather.
With the items in my project we will be able to have students have hands on experience with items that will help them have an interactive circle time.
We also have added a few resources that will help to go with our colorful cadet classroom theme. This includes items to help create our circle time bulletin board to make it more interactive for our students to have more engagement during circle time.
