Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are between the ages of seven and ten. They have a been diagnosed with Down Syndrome, Autism, Speech Impairment, Developmental Delays and more. Most of my students are non-verbal and need to work in communication. Even though they might have the same diagnostic, they each have unique disabilities. I have 6 amazing students, they were all in my class last year.

Life skills students typically remain in the same Life Skills Unit through all their elementary years

My students would greatly benefit from big manipulatives as they construct and deconstruct meeting their special needs.

My Project

The Creative LEGO DUPLO Brick Set will be useful in developing their fine motor skills and critical thinking skills as they choose different pieces to create different buildings.

The Build Me Emotions kit will help the students recognize different emotions to reinforce the social-emotional skills that they learn during weekly lessons.

The Animal Bingo will be a wonderful tool to practice turn taking, following directions and develop their communication skills.

The Community People Set will help them reinforce Social Studies vocabulary and better understand the different members in their own community facilitating their interaction with people in their daily lives.
