Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Coloring is a great way for children to be creative and use their imagination, especially in early childhood. Coloring also encourages color recognition. With using markers comes the task of keeping up with the tops. The lipstick holders will serve as a house for the tops. Hot gluing the marker tops into the lipstick holder will prevent the lids from being lost, all while teaching my students organization, responsibility, and color matching since they have to match the marker with the correct top. The twine and clothes pins are a creative way for my students work to be displayed across our room and not just on the walls. Also teaching the creativity, diversity, and an appreciation for the arts. This will also foster a since of pride in their work.

With all of the nutritional needs and allergies students have, the refrigerator will allow us to store lunches and healthy snacks.

Children in title 1 low income schools don't always have the option for healthy snacks. Having a refrigerator will help ensure my students have fresh fruits and vegetables available to them.

The sheet protectors are used in the take home folders to protect the calendar, communication log and various phonics activities. They can use dry erase markers to trace letters shapes and numbers for extra practice at home. This also saves paper.
