This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love indoor recess! We currently do not have a playground at our school, so indoor recess with toys is their favorite. We start every morning with "calendar" and a part of "calendar" is weather. They get so excited if the weather is not favorable for outdoor recess. "We have indoor recess, YES!" They love to play with the toys I currently have, which have all been hand-me-downs from family and friends. They deserve some brand-new engaging toys.

I am asking for creative, interesting, engaging, and favorable toys to enjoy during indoor recess.

Candy Land will provide an opportunity for my students to follow directions and take turns. The magnetic Picasso Tiles provide endless opportunities to practice creativity, concentration and focus, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Toy cars are always a hit and promote turn-taking from passing it back and forth. I have a few Barbies of my own from when I was a child but I would love to provide my students with Barbies that look like them. Both boys and girls enjoy playing with Barbies and it promotes imaginative play and conversation.
