Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Oh! The Places You'll Go!" is the theme of my class. Many of my students come from challenging backgrounds. I am trying to embed courage in them to press forward through trials in order to accomplish hard things and eventually graduate from college so they can have a successful career and life.

Diversity is something that is valued in my classroom.

The students are engulfed in many different cultures and learn to understand and respect other ways of life. My students come from various parts of the world and there are over six different languages spoken in my classroom. Our school is a Title I school, which means many of the students come from low-income living situations. Over 90% of our school is on free or reduced lunch. However, these students don't let their background hold them back. They have a thirst for knowledge and want to make something of their life.

My Project

In my class I have to provide classroom materials and I am asking for dry erase markers, glue sticks, and general supplies like staples, tape, paper and folders. The cost quickly adds up for these education basics. The students need these items in order to complete assignments and work in class. Our assignments range from writing, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, math facts and various math assignments. Furthermore, we do various activities with science and social studies.

Donations to this project will help out the class by ensuring we have the basic tools for learning and exploring.

We need the supplies to practice our writing, math, spelling and every day learning.
