This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is filled with love and sunlight. My students enjoy greeting each other each day.

As individuals we are each unique, as a classroom we are a team working to move forward every day.

We read, write and cipher. We have community circle. We go to school wide functions. We play outside. We have quiet time. We take time to share our thoughts.

My Project

For an engineering activity we bought a Knex kit on bridge construction. It was such a huge hit that I would like for the students to have the classroom kit available for rainy days, free time, and rewards. The concentration and learning is obvious on each child's face as they build using these manipulatives.

My project will make a difference because the students do not even know they are learning.

They ask each other for advice and share their knowledge with one another. We come together to share out creations and describe our process. The students are proud of their achievements.
