This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember that defining moment when you discovered a special talent or ability? I hope to unlock these answers for my students as I provide visual arts lessons and creative opportunities in the classroom.

I teach second grade to a creative bunch of students.

They are eager for new experiences that motivate and challenge them. For many of my students school is their only opportunity to receive enrichment classes. I want my students to feel successful at whatever they do. Some students excel in academics while others find success in different ways. Keeping the arts alive will ensure that all of my students would be given the opportunity to reach their highest potential.

My Project

This year my students were fortunate enough to receive weekly theater classes from our wonderful theater teacher and the students blossomed from this experience! Their love for the arts grew and I would love to continue to provide a quality visual arts experience, too. The books and materials I am requesting will be used to introduce students to famous artists. We will study their techniques, their importance in Art History and their influence on the world today. Students will create art projects that are inspired by famous artists, too.
