This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The use of individual whiteboards are almost a daily occurrence in my modern math classroom. My modern math classroom meets the needs of every student through classroom-tested techniques that helps ever student truly learn. I use a research-backed instructional model to respond to every student's needs through blended instruction, self-paced structures and mastery-based learning. Students are no longer learning in a one-size-fits-all model.

Every student in my modern math classroom gets the support they need.

Individual whiteboards and headphones are used almost daily in my classroom. The headphones assist with blended and self-paced learning, but also helps students focus during independent work time. The whiteboards are instrumental in students expressing their mathematical thinking. It allows them to organize their thoughts and communicate their work, especially while collaborating with classmates. It is also helpful for me to see their thought process when they are struggling with a concept during class. Pens and erasers only last for so long, so extras are always nice to have. Ultimately these materials help in forming stronger relationships with my students.
