My students need the iPad Mini as a reference in the art room. It can make a difference to be able to pull up a work of art in color, see, and interact with it.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students I teach at SES are a diverse community of people. I am very fortunate to be their art teacher. I can always pull and draw inspiration from their many different backgrounds, and cultures to create a great art lesson or unit. They are a creative bunch who surprise me daily with their artistic ability and fearlessness to try something new.
Unfortunately, we are a part of a large city where many of our students are in need.
To create an optimal art experience for my students is my goal. This is why I believe we could benefit from using updated technology in the art classroom. It can give my students the art classroom they deserve, full of wonder.
My Project
It is my second year at this school. I am trying to build up the best art classroom I can. I want my students to get inspired by art, to be moved by it, and really look at the world around them with wonder.
The books can help me build up the little art library I started.
My students love to do step by step drawings in their earned time after projects. Books also help me show examples of art we may be learning about at the time, and gather inspiration for new projects.
The iPads would create a whole new world in the art room. We can travel to different art museums using Google together. We can interact with each other using the app seesaw where students can post artwork they have found and liked or have created themselves and want to share. We will be able to look at examples of art from our lessons as well as pictures of the artists we are learning about.
I mention wonder in my paragraph because that is what I see when I see a child get excited about a new art project, material, or artist. They light up! I think the use and help of technology in the art room helps them seek out what art they are interested and might want to know more about. Perpetuating the wonder inside of them.
