My students need tablets so they can participate in technology-based instructional activities.

My Students
There are 7 boys and 6 girls in my class that represent several different cultures. Three of the students have already been identified as having a special need which does not keep them from interacting with their peers and learning new skills and information.
The students in my class are very eager to learn and are already talking about graduating from high school.
My students are bilingual which makes it easier for them to talk with classmates who are native English speakers. This also allows them to be able to understand the class rules and routines and follow teacher directions.
My Project
I will be able to incorporate more technology into my instructional activities. During small group activities, the students will be able to follow along with me instead of having to wait their turn. We have two desktop computer in our room and the students have a difficult time navigating the mouse.
By having touchscreen tablets for the students to use, they will learn how to research information about topics of interest, play educational games to enhance their learning, and take pictures of their work that can be sent to parents.
Using technology will also help the students learn skills necessary to be a productive member of our global society.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
