My Project
I absolutely love my students for their unique strengths, curiosity, and the incredible ways they engage with the world around them. Many of our school's students experience sensory challenges, which can make large, noisy school events overwhelming. However, they deserve the same opportunities to participate, celebrate, and feel included in our school community.
Through this project, we aim to create sensory-friendly options that allow our students to comfortably engage in whole-school rallies.
The noise-canceling headphones will provide essential support for students who may struggle with loud noises and crowded environments. These items will help them self-regulate, stay engaged, and feel more at ease in a setting that might otherwise be overwhelming.
Goals for This Project:
Ensure every student feels included in school-wide rallies and events.
Provide sensory supports that help students self-regulate and participate comfortably.
Reduce anxiety and sensory overload, allowing students to focus on the positive aspects of the rallies.
Foster a more inclusive school culture where all students, regardless of sensory needs, can celebrate together as a community.
What makes our students truly special is their resilience, creativity, and the unique ways they experience the world. They are incredibly capable, and with the right accommodations, they can fully engage in activities that bring joy and a sense of belonging. This project will empower them with the tools they need to participate, enjoy, and thrive in our school rallies—just like their peers!
