Creating Problem Solvers and Critical Thinkers Through S.T.E.A.M.!
Help me give my students more STEAM activity choices such as the Fairy Tales Problem Solving Kit, Bridge Building Engineering Center, the Learn to Code File Folder Games, and the Building Brick STEM challenge kit.
My students love to learn and come to school with enthusiasm and curiosity each and every day. They are so creative and a lot of times I find myself learning from them just as much as they learn from me. Their passion and eagerness for knowledge in the classroom truly inspires me daily.
Our classroom is truly a community that utilizes cooperative learning structures and STEAM activities throughout our day to keep the students engaged and actively learning and exploring.
My Project
S.T.E.A.M is an integrated approach to teaching that incorporates, physical and social SCIENCES, incorporation of TECHNOLOGY, principles of ENGINEERING and Design, English Language ARTS, and Application of MATHEMATICS
Our school is fully invested in the STEAM approach to education to encourage our students to be innovative problem solvers that are future ready!
I have been honored to be one of the S.T.E.A.M ambassadors for my campus, helping create STEAM curriculum for our students to engage in during WIN time, and STEAM pop Fridays. To enable this program to work and truly benefit out students, we need materials and resources that we can use to enhance our STEAM curriculum with hands on learning opportunities for our students. With the resources I'm requesting the students will have access to these materials daily in the classroom that will give them opportunities to practice coding, engineer and analyze different bridge structures, create simple machines using building bricks, and engineer and plan out solutions to scenarios from some of their favorite fairy tales.
