Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My sweet kiddos are living in and attending a high poverty school. They work hard, helping us achieve A+ exemplary status, they love their school and feel safe here.

Our school events are well attended by students and their parents because they are as committed to this wonderful place as we the teachers are.

The parents support us in every way they can. So while money is not something they have much of, they do have their time and show their support in that way.

My Project

Without enough technology, it makes it very challenging for my students to connect outside of our classroom walls and create innovative solutions for our future. We also could use these Chromebooks to design projects to compete in STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics) competitions and create meaningful, real-world projects. With these amazing students and more technology, the possibilities are endless! The Chromebooks would allow our students access to several tools that are already becoming indispensable to their educational experience. As a Google Apps for Education district, all students have Google Drive accounts and are using Google Docs to create, edit, and revise research projects and competition projects. Other ways the Chromebooks would be used include, but are not limited to, Google SketchUp, Lego Robotics, and websites that allow students to create their own code for website and mobile applications.

Chromebooks are an inexpensive portal to all of the tools that students are requesting to support their creative and innovative learning.

Chromebook donations will allow our students to continue to transition toward more meaningful, real-world learning experiences. Having Chromebooks will also allow my students to have more autonomy over their learning which will help their self-esteem and will foster peer collaboration, which is a school-wide goal. Thank you in advance for helping provide my students with these critical skills needed for their futures.
