My Students
The students in all of my classes are very diverse. They come from different cultures, backgrounds, and economic levels. We strive to find common ground so we can grow and learn in a positive environment.
My classes are made up of creative, high energy 3rd-5th graders who love to learn.
We are always looking for new and creative ways to experience and express ourselves through music. The students that I teach are very talented and strive to always be the best.
My Project
I am choosing classroom percussion instruments because they are what my students ask to play the most. They love to drum! It is important to me to take that passion, and channel it into making beautiful music.
My music students need a variety of percussion instruments in order to apply what we are learning to something tangible and real.
I have found that the more variety represented in the classroom, the more engaged the students become. There is an excitement. All of my students are motivated to participate and fully engage when instruments are involved. I am requesting hand drums, triangles, sand blocks, shakers, and a few larger tubano drums to fill my room with music.
Our classroom has limited access to engaging percussion instruments, and we would like to remedy this challenge with your help!
