Teacher Professional Development: I need Creating Math Work Stations, Differentiated Math Centers, and Teaching Number Sense to improve number sense and other important early math skills. <profdevpilot>
I hold a Master's Degree in Reading, consequently I am well equipped to teach the art of reading backwards and forwards. I have found, however, that I need to greatly improve the instruction of math in my classroom. Depending on my district's current adopted curriculum has fallen short.
With these great teacher-use materials I have high hopes to create a mathematical environment for young learners.
Using the professional books such as "Creating Math Work Stations," Differentiated Math Centers," "Teaching Number Sense," and more, I hope to create learning games and worksheets that will create mathematical thinkers. I plan to store these laminated activities in a large binder filled with vinyl pouches so they will be at ready access.
My Project
As a teacher, one thing is true. A teacher must continually change, adapt, study, learn and implement! I want to make sure my students receive the best and that includes a teacher who uses established methods of teaching and the best learning materials available. These requested materials will allow me to gain valuable information in creating and maintaining a math-enriched classroom that meets my students' needs. I will be able to learn the latest in the teaching of mathematics by reading from the five latest publications by early learning math professionals. I will be able to create new work station games by using the requested paper, ink cartridges, laminating pouches, and card stock. I will store the created games in the heavy-duty binder and pocket pouches for easy use.
By obtaining professional development books that address mathematical instructional strategies, binders and paper to allow me to create as I learn, as well as storage, I will be armed for professional growth in the area of mathematics.
