My Project
As the Special Education Intervention Specialist Coordinator at a large metropolitan school district, I am continually seeking our research based reading instruction programs to meet the needs of my Tier 2 students who struggle with learning how to read. I also have the opportunity to collaborate with my colleagues and provide them with instructional materials for their Tier 2 reading students. The manual will allow me to create Professional Based Learning Teams using UFLI with our Tier 2 students.
UFLI foundations is a research based explicit and systematic approach that teaches students the foundational skills to be proficient readers.
UFLI foundations is a top-rated resource that is backed by the Science of Reading and supported by literacy experts such as Dr. Louisa Moats. This manual would help my colleagues and I reach our goal of moving our Tier 2 students to Tier 1, creating literacy proficiency for all our students.
