This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This upcoming school year will be my first year teaching, and I will have a class of 30 amazing first graders! My students will come from different backgrounds but will become a community that unites under the goal of knowledge and experiences.
My school believes in learning without limits!
The students are creative, innovative, and love to learn. I am aiming to remove any potential limits in my classroom by supplying my students with materials that meet their varied interests and enhance their learning experience.
My Project
I am asking for help in building a rich classroom library where students feel excited to pick a book off the shelf. I have included books that will reach students with varied interests and reading levels. These books will help students develop reading skills through read-alouds and independent reading. When students read more, their reading abilities and literacy skills improve.
I want to foster a love of reading in my students and create lifelong readers.
Through offering different choices of books, I hope to inspire and encourage students to explore the literacy world that is out there. I want my students to be exposed to as many books as possible and a classroom library is essential to reach that goal.
