My Students
My student are fifth graders and are English Language learners who will be the first generation to graduate. They live in a rural community in Fresno, TX and are low income. I have students that are hardworking and enthusiastic about learning.
I do have a few that need an extra push to work hard, and someone that believes that they can be successful.
My student enjoy working in groups and collaborate effectively with their peers. Even do is a title one school my students need the best education and learning environment.
My Project
For this project we are asking for books for our classroom library and a few mentor books to get us started. Hurricane Harvey affected our school and community in our small town in Fresno, TX. Now this school year our students have started the year with excitement and high hopes of having a classroom library with a variety of books where they can choose the one that sparks there interest. This books will take the students places they haven’t been and built their vocabulary. The books will help increase this reading level and love for reading. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
