Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My student are very hard working eager to learn and they put forth their best ability when in class. These students come from a low income neighbourhood but they undersand the importance of a good education.

In order to become lifelong learners, our students need opportunities to pursue their curiosities and interests.

Some schools and districts encourage teachers to design units of study that align to standards and are responsive to student interests; in other schools and districts, curriculum is more tightly defined and teachers have less voice about the choices they can offer students. Having the necessary supplies and resources that the student needs makes a great impact in the classroom.

My Project

When teachers are able to provide their students—particularly those from low-income backgrounds—with adequate supplies, their learning experience is transformed. We have found that giving students a “limitless classroom” is a huge deal, especially in her low-income school.

"When I am able to give them opportunities through different supplies, they see that they are not limited and they are able to bring their vision to life "They see that they can do more and be more.

It gives them a lot of self-assurance. They are able to express and diffrenciate what they they are working. It helps to also keep the classroom organize.
