My Students
My students come to school excited and ready to learn. I strive to create a safe and happy environment for my students. In order to build a sense of community, we have regular classroom meetings and discussions. However, there is no place in our classroom to gather the whole class easily.
My students love to learn.
They thrive when working together in small groups and truly enjoy discussing their learning with each other when the class comes together as a whole. My students also take pride in being "leaders" who are accepting and respectful of every one in our classroom.
My Project
I am requesting 1 large rug that will fit every student for our classroom meetings and discussions. In order to foster a community feeling in our classroom, we hold weekly team-building meetings in which students learn about how to be kind and respectful to others, what it means to have empathy and be accepting to those who are different than you, and focus on anti-bullying measures being implemented in our school. During these meetings, students have to sit at their individual desks. It is hard to build a sense of community and togetherness when everyone is separated. A large rug for the whole class to gather on would be ideal!
My students need a large rug in order to hold our class meetings.
Donations to this project will promote a sense of togetherness in my classroom and allow my students to grow even more in their character education.
