My kindergarteners from Los Angeles are going to be brand new to elementary school next year! The year will be an exciting time for students to learn to read, write, count, add, work with others and much more!! It is going to be a year full of growth and fun!
Kindergarteners come to school with excitement and an immense readiness to learn!
I can't wait to see all they accomplish this year and hope they finish the year with a love for learning.
My Project
As a first year teacher, I am building my classroom from the ground up! Teaching kindergarteners, I want to be sure my students have ample opportunities to get up and move and have independent choices. Therefore, I am creating a classroom environment that is based on flexible seating.
Kindergarteners have a lot of energy, are social and very capable of making their own choices.
Flexible seating will allow my students to learn how to make the best seating choice for them and their learning style. The clipboards will allow students to do their work on the rug, while the supply carts will allow us to have community supplies that all students can access as needed. Their book boxes will be a space they can store their leveled reading books and other work. We will also use the whiteboards for independent work, as well as to stay actively engaged during math and writing lessons.
