Creating Independence

Help me give my students opportunities to be independent by having a safer option to reach the sink and smart board with a step stool with hand rails!

My Students

My pre-kindergarten, varying exceptionality students are a kind and energetic bunch of children. I teach in a Title I school. Most of our children are from single-parent homes. We are a neighborhood school, and I am very proud to teach at our school. The students in my classroom each come with their own way of learning. It is my hope to reach each student and create a love of learning within them. Each of my students deserves​ the best tools to help them learn.

My Project

Independence is key in our PreK VE classroom. Right now, many of our students struggle to reach the sink to wash hands, and to reach the SmartBoard to participate in learning games. This new step stool will help them gain independence and a sense of accomplishment. The fine motor games will increase their ability and the strength in their hands. Many of our students lack strength in their hands and need new ways to strengthen them. The stickers, games, and toys will provide new strategies to help them obtain these goals. The new games and toys will be easy to sanitize so it will make it accessible to all students.
