Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am an Early Childhood Education Coach. I have the privilege of working with over 200 three and four year old children everyday. Our students come from a small rural town about 30 miles south of Sacramento. Our students come variety of backgrounds, financially and culturally. Many of them come from homes were Spanish is spoken.
Our students are active, happy and make me smile everyday.
They love to learn and play in preschool. They gleefully read books, draw pictures, build structures, and pretend play throughout the day. They are thrilled to show me their last project every time I visit the classroom.
My Project
We have a new STEAM room at our school! STEAM represents the areas of science, technology, engineering, art and math. The last area we need to complete is our art center! One wall of our STEAM room has a counter for students to work while in the art area. There are 20 tubs waiting to be filled with art supplies for their exploration and creation.
These art supplies will give our students the opportunity to imagine, explore, design and create any project they wish!
I can't wait to see all the wonderful creations our students will make with all these wonderful art supplies! I hope to have some student art available for display at our "Grand Opening" in January!
