Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach full-day preschool with children from many different backgrounds. Many of my students are from single parents, parents in jail, foster children, or families with little to no income. The preschool program is free to these families thanks to a state grant. However, we rely on donations to fund all the supplies and other classroom needs.
My students enjoy making crafts to take home to their parents.
The benefits of art in preschool are priceless. Art can be a relaxing outlet for young children to express their emotions, and art is also a very beneficial way for young children to develop their fine motor and language skills. The multi-age preschool students at our school are creative thinkers who love to explore art freely and share their ideas. By exploring the materials listed through process art projects, my students will have the opportunity to practice communication and literacy skills.
