This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a French teacher who teaches primarily low-income, first-generation or immigrant students. Many, if not most, of them have never heard of Monet, Van Gogh, Cézanne, Seurat, etc. I would like to enhance my teaching of these iconic artist by having them recreate their art in class with the requested paint, brushes, paper, and canvas panels.
I am finding more and more that students learn best by doing hands-on work.
This is why I am requesting painting supplies for my classes. I have seen other French teachers around the country do such projects to great success. Now it is SRHS students' turn to have such an enriching artistic, cultural experience.
