I coach elementary basketball at a school in Port Arthur, TX. I have three basketball teams here, girls team, boys A team, and boys B team. My kids all come from difficult neighborhoods around the city. We have a great group of kids who are very athletic with high hopes and dreams for success. Our Girls, Boys A and Boys B teams have had back-to-back Championships here, so the kids look forward to the season every year.
The game of Basketball to my students is not just a sport for them, it's family away from family, or maybe the love the kids don't receive at home.
It keeps grades up and behavior together in class.
My Project
The equipment I have requested will help kids at home as well as in school, they will be able to go home and practice all of the skills we are learning inside of practice at home with creating multiple ways to perfect the skills at home to become better and more advanced athletes.
Kids don't understand how important it is to go home and practice and give all you've got on and off the floor, nothing in life comes easy you have to work for everything and if you want to accomplish anything in life you have to be willing to put in the work for it, to become better athletes in life.
The equipment I have chosen will give my kids helpful ways to perfect their future in basketball, also helping them learn more techniques and basics to continue in their future of basketball.
