My students are so excited to learn and have a passion to learn in different ways. They live in a growing suburb area of Salt Lake City and the schools are becoming very crowded because this is where young families want to live. Parents are involved in their children's education and want them to succeed. The expectations are high for their educational growth and with that, the parents and students are wanting a variety of ways for them to learn. Covid has impacted learning the last year and a half. Students are required to run faster than expected to "catch up" and this is something that will impact them for years to come.
Using a variety of supplies of books of different genres and reading levels, using hands on classroom science supplies and having access to individual student supplies will help enhance the student's understanding of the curriculum being taught during a time when I need to make this catch up time impactful.
They can make connections and learn through different avenues and perspectives.
The students in my classroom learn and progress, but at different levels. With this donation, it would be possible to continue the excitement of learning.
My Project
The requested resources that I have asked for are going to help in my classroom in so many ways. I enjoy using a lot of different supplies throughout the school year. I have requested art, daily usage, science and reading supplies in my project.
It has been hard for parents to supply their children with school supplies because of Covid, so the supplies that I asked for will help with the burden on families.
Also, the supplies that I requested for my classroom will help the students work together in groups, learn from one another, and also communicate in doing group projects together. This will help their academic and social-emotional health during the pandemic.
