Help me give my students sight word magnets, sentence builders and bananagrams that will teach them necessary critical thinking skills during center time, as well as storage to organize our books, manipulatives and supplies .
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things in order to grow both personally and academically.
I have 18 beautiful children who beam with joy as they proudly identify letters, and discover sounds.
They love to learn! As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. This year the challenges my students and I face are lack of adequate classroom center activities that encourage creativity, as well as adequate storage for our books, manipulatives and puzzles.
My Project
My students will be using the supplies requested during Literacy and Math Centers. During centers these items will allow my students to work independently while I work with individual groups on specifics skills needed to reach our goals. The educational kits like Creating Sight-Word Sentences Center and Build the Letter Activity Center allow my students to develop their critical thinking skills. I've requested a storage unit for our manipulatives, books, puzzles and supplies. Our current storage unit is small and falling apart. The new one will allow us to have storage for all our resources for easy access. I am also in need of markers to grade papers and create eye catching anchor charts. These items I have requested will help create an efficient and effective learning environment. Thank you for your support!
Our goal is to get our Kindergarten students at reading and math level by end of year so that they have a smooth transition to 1st grade.
These items will help students target and master those skills necessary to achieve those goals.
