This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students love pop culture, particularly music. Music drives many of their conversations and fuels their aspirations to become musicians and pursue music careers. This DJ controller will be a great starting point to help many of my students exercise their creativity and explore the various genres of music that influence their lives. This DJ controller will challenge them to create mashups (mixes) and learn about tempo, timing, and beat structure. Music is POWERFUL! Music transcends cultures and has the power to unify students and teach lessons that incorporate all aspects of the ELA curriculum and standards.
