My students are young, eager and trying to find their way in this world. They come from neighboring districts, making up a variety of backgrounds and personalities. Some of my students will be eager to be in school, while others are not supported by family outside of our school walls and need an extra boost, or reason, to come every day.
My students need to feel like they belong in our school and inside my classroom.
They need to know they are a part of our classroom family. Within our family, they have a place, materials and an environment that is inviting to them. A family I want them to be a part of!
My Project
My students attend a school that is 77% free and reduced lunch. They come from a variety of home settings, some with very little.
My goal is to create a classroom community that they want to be a part of.
A classroom they want to come to every day. With this Silhouette, I will make classroom t-shirts to show our unity. This will help give my students a sense of belonging in our class. With this cool tool I can also create fun center games to focus on their learning, interactive bulletin boards, classroom management, job charts to help share the responsibility in our classroom and much more! When students are vested in their community, when they feel like they belong, then they can focus on school work.
