Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When students enter a classroom, they deserve for it to be clean and organized. I hope to create this safe and supportive space. The classroom should be supportive of their learning needs and social emotional needs. The products I have selected include opportunities for flexible seating (padded stool chairs), bright ways to display their work in the classroom, and a calming corner to meet social emotional needs (posters, garland, decorations, bulletin board paper, colorful push pins and stickers). The seats will allow students options to work with peers for conferencing, and form discussion groups. My students have a bean bag they utilize often during classroom instruction as well as when they need a moment to ground themselves. I want to create a clean calming corner to help provide that space and meet social emotional needs. This will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to take some time to themselves.
