My Project
My students are natural experimenters who learn best by doing. What makes them special is their enthusiasm for "wow factor" demonstrations that reveal the invisible world of chemistry. When they see a cloud form instantly in a bottle or watch pressure changes affect volume, their eyes light up with understanding.
The foot pumps will transform our study of gases by allowing students to safely create and control pressure changes.
For our cloud-in-a-bottle experiment, students will use the pumps to create the perfect conditions for condensation, making the water cycle visible in miniature. They'll also use the pumps to investigate gas laws, watching how pressure affects volume and temperature in real time.
My goals for this project are to:
Make abstract gas laws tangible through hands-on experiments
Enable students to conduct controlled pressure investigations safely.
Create memorable demonstrations that cement understanding of key concepts.
Give students experience with real-world applications of gas behavior.
Foster scientific curiosity through engaging demonstrations
