Creating Calm in Regulation

Help me give my students flex seating that includes a large bean bag to relax and nourish their emotions in our regulation room.

My Project

I love my students because each of them brings something unique to the classroom. Their curiosity, determination, and desire to learn, even when facing challenges, motivate me every day. Many of my students are dealing with difficult personal situations, and having a space where they feel safe, comfortable, and understood can make a significant difference in their success.

The flexible seating and snacks I’m requesting are essential tools to help create that environment.

Flexible seating options like bean bags, floor cushions, and standing desks allow students to choose what works best for them. When they have control over their seating, they feel more comfortable and engaged in their learning. This autonomy helps them focus better and tackle their work with confidence.

Snacks are equally important. Many of my students come to school without having had a proper meal, which can affect their concentration and ability to stay calm. By providing snacks, I can ensure they have the energy they need to stay focused and at ease. A simple snack can help them refuel and be ready to handle the challenges they face.

My goal is to create a space where students can regulate their emotions and feel comfortable enough to engage with their work. I want them to have the tools they need to succeed both academically and emotionally, helping them thrive in school and life.

What makes my students special is their resilience. Despite the obstacles they face, they come into the classroom every day with a positive attitude and a readiness to learn. With these resources, I hope to help them continue to shine.
