This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our fine arts magnet school is located in a vibrant and diverse community. Although we are in a high poverty district, our school has been able to retain our fine arts magnet status. However, it has been a challenge to find the funding for exciting, up-to-date learning materials that fit our 21st-century students.

One hundred percent of the students who attend our school receive free or reduced-price lunch.

We have a highly diverse immigrant population. As a choice school, students from many different backgrounds and countries attend our fine arts program. Our staff works hard to provide them with any materials they need to enhance their learning experiences.

My Project

Our school focuses on creating STEM activities for our students. We know that the future will require employees that can code, create, collaborate, and solve issues creatively. The Bubble stem kit in this project will allow my student to create different kinds of bubble wands and observe how they react with the liquid. The kit involves all of the materials needed, a teacher guide, and journal/reporting options for the students. After the unit is done, there will be a showcase so that each student can share what type of wand they have created. I can already imagine this showcase taking place outside on a beautiful spring day later in this school year. We would love your help to bring this important experience to our class!
