Creating Bright Visuals for Bright Students with Autism
My students need a color printer, both color and black ink, and copy paper in order for me to create their own individual schedules, picture cues, visuals, "break" cards, and communication/choice boards.

My Students
Our school is in the center of Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY in a District 75 school. My students are a 6:1:1 class at the K-2 age level with all of them classified as having Autism.
They vary in ability in communicating their wants and needs, they have their own unique personality's but all come from a space of pure love.
They all make progress but show it to us in different ways. My students show potential in making huge strides this year!
My Project
My students learn best with routine, individual schedules, activity schedules, and visuals to help them learn and communicate. They truly require a visual step-by-step procedure in order to calm any anxiety they have about what is coming next. I love creating materials that truly help them calm down, communicate, and learn in any way, however, it can become difficult to produce these materials without proper equipment on a consistent basis. Having access to an available color printer, ink, and paper, will afford my classroom team and myself the ability to create the proper materials we need in order for our students thrive.
