Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are special because they have the strength to persevere through challenges many adults have not been through, in order to achieve the best education they can. This past school year my school explored how trauma affects the brain. I reflected on how the students in my class have been resilient through poverty, domestic abuse, relocation as refugees, and a variety of other experiences.
And yet, these experiences never define my students.
This year my students each have a story, personality, and goals uniquely their own. My job is to support them on their journey to being well, rounded members of society.
My Project
Creativity and self-expression allow for personal growth. This project will allow students to create a canvas painting they will keep. Each student will create a painted masterpiece. This project is for the entire third grade. The number of students in each classroom is not finalized yet, but I expect this project will reach more than 70 different students.
Every creative soul should be expressed and appreciated.
The paints, trays, and brushes will be shared between classes. Each student will take their personal canvas home to display or give as a gift to a loved one. This creative experience would not be possible without your help!
