My Project

Aloha generous donors. With the impact of COVID-19, it seems harder to keep the attention of our student learners. They were thrown onto computers when we transitioned to virtual learning, and for most, it was not the best learning environment to help them thrive. Especially the social interaction part.

I feel that getting them moving and interacting with one another helps them to internalize the learning, create connections on concepts, and most of all, foster relationships with their peers through meaningful conversations.

Mobile whiteboards allow multiple students to participate around the room in smaller groups with the teacher. With that, students are able to see how their peers are able to share their ideas, whether it be in reading or math, and have the opportunity to contribute to that. Speaking of math, the playing cards are a great tool in having students practice their math skills through a game either independently, with a partner, or small group. It's easily adaptable to many math concepts, which means it has a variety of uses.

The mobile art drying rack will allow a place for me to leave their art that will not take up space at student desks. It also gives students the opportunity to see their classmates work without having to touch their art work.

Lastly, some essential classroom supplies such as a stapler, filing folders, and pencil sharpener will greatly help the workflow of the classroom. With these supplies students can be more organized, and will not have to wait a long time to use either the stapler or sharpener.

Thank you for taking the time to read the needs of our classroom. We greatly appreciate your generosity, and we can't wait to share how we would use these resources in our classroom!
