Creating an Ergonomic Learning Environment

I am trying to create a friendly, student-directed learning environment. I am a fifth grade teacher who teaches in a high-need community. Many resources, not supplied by the school district, come out of my own finances. I am committed to the success of my students.

The students like to create a fun, friendly learning environment. They love to use bean bags when reading throughout the classroom. Students have shown concern over sitting in uncomfortable chairs at desks for long periods of time throughout the day.

By having therapy balls as chairs, this can create an ergonomic benefit for the students. Instead of sitting constantly in chairs, they will now have a choice of seating. The therapy balls cushion the student and creates a friendly learning environment.
