Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
BLHS students are students who are focused on building their legacy and are committed to academic excellence. Our students are committed to advocacy, empowering their community, and social justice. With this commitment that students have to their community it is important that they feel comfortable and seen in their learning environment. A classroom serves as a space where students are inspired and pushed to be the best version of themselves.
In a learning environment it is important that students feel comfortable to be creative and feel inspired every single day.
With posters of people of color who are inspirational it helps students see people who look like themselves who have been able to be successful in their goals. It is important to show students this because it shows them that being inspirational is not impossible and that they could achieve this. Furthermore, with the supplies such as markers and color pencils it provides students with the ability to continue to develop their creativity. Our students at BLHS push themselves everyday to be great and creating an environment that embodies that will be extremely helpful.
