Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I, PK-5 campus with about 550 scholars which 91% of our students are economically disadvantaged, 100% of our scholars receive free lunch, and 42% of our English Language Learners are Limited English Proficient (LEP).
My students show an abundance of creativity and passion for learning.
They crave for more engaging activities and opportunities to reach their full potential and it is my job to help my students meet this, this is why it is so important.
My Project
Our theme is Hollywood so students are reminded daily that they are superstars!
Students deserve to feel important and as special as celebrities while they walk down the red carpet each morning and afternoon.
The red carpet would be a great reference point to lift self-esteem and symbol for greatness.
Students will feel that they have a say and role in their classroom as they sit in the director's chair made especially to fit a first grader. If students choose, they can sit on the soft carpet instead.
This year, I am focusing on building student's character and these few books will be a great choice to teach these lessons from.
