Help me give my students a more flexible learning space to fit their unique needs as learners. The multiple types of seating like the Learniture wobble stools, futon, and the balance balls.
My classroom this year will consist of students from various backgrounds as well as varying academic and social needs. They are fourth graders ranging from nine to ten years of age. Students of any age learn best when given a learning space that is comfortable, inspiring, safe, and engaging. When children are provided with a space that meets these characteristics, the learning process becomes much more enjoyable. My goal is to create a classroom that is student-centered and promotes collaboration and creativity.
My Project
My classroom started its journey with flexible seating two years ago, in that time I have seen a positive impact on their ability to focus during lessons. Flexible seating provides a space for students to make the choice that best fits their unique needs.
My goal with this project is to allow my students to have even more choice when it comes to their learning space.
The items like the balance balls, futon, and wobble stools will give my students more options. Many of my students need seating options that allow them to move throughout the day and these items provide that. The mobile white board will allow me to move my teaching space to students throughout the day when pulling small groups or working on collaborative projects.
