Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This will be the 3rd year that we will gift our outgoing 4th graders with a journal to record their dreams, thoughts, frustrations, and ideas in. After reading the novel, "Fish In A Tree", by Lynda Mullaly Hunt, our students have learned to dream of things that seem impossible and then to go for their dream. We have worked all year teaching them to persevere, be creative, enjoy and celebrate their differences. Now as summer approaches and they leave the walls of our classroom, we want to send them off with their own Sketchbook of Impossible Things.

These sketchbooks and supplies will help our students dream big over the summer, keep their creativity going, and help them see that impossible really is I'm-Possible.

We have heard from past students, who also received this gift, that they loved sketching their summer adventures and thinking of impossible ideas to draw and write about.

Your contributions to this project will be a gift that these children will remember and take with them, not only throughout this summer, but throughout their education. They will be able to think of the impossible and then create it. Thank you in advance.
