Creating a Successful Classroom for Every Student

My Students

In many classrooms from past to present students are instructed on grade level. It becomes difficult for teachers to reach all students both below level and above level. Students who are low become confused and in need of additional explanation. I want every student to succeed.

My students are Third graders.

We have a large population, so our classrooms are filled with up to 30 children. We are an eclectic school with children from all races and economic backgrounds. We have the upper class, middle class and lower class students all grouped together. This community is unique in that it was built this way on purpose to bring different cultures, races and economic backgrounds together to learn to work together and live together. I get students who know all their math facts and can read on a sixth grade level. I also get students who are on a first grade reading level, cannot add basic facts or cannot tell time. These things along with changing to the new Common CORE makes reaching every student a very hard thing to do.

My Project

My students would greatly benefit from this listening center. It would accommodate 6 students at a time with wireless headphones that would allow the students to move and work without getting tangled. The math listening center would give my students an opportunity work with hands on activities while they are listening. My diverse students would benefit from this form of re-teaching. My students struggle with fluency and language arts. At the beginning of the year my students were ranked the lowest in the grade on fluency. As a result I have focused my efforts in helping them increase their reading fluency but my resources are limited. The fluency center that I have selected would make working on fluency more efficient and exciting for students. I have also selected a non fiction comprehension listening center along with a punctuation listening center. I believe that these supplies will truly enhance the learning in my classroom

My students need the extra reinforcement that they would get from these listening centers and fluency center.

I feel that the skills they would develop from these item are essential. I want every child to be successful in my class and I feel this is a great way to accommodate each student.
