My Project

Our vision is to create a sensory library that is an inclusive and welcoming environment that caters to individuals with various sensory sensitivities, including those with autism, ADHD, and other sensory processing disorders. The library will be designed to stimulate and engage the senses in a positive way, providing a comfortable space for reading, learning, and social interaction.

The importance of such a library cannot be overstated, as it will serve as a haven for individuals who often face challenges in traditional library settings.

We plan on changing out the lights, adding comfy flexible seating and using all the sensory resources we can to make our Sensory Library. We have a classroom connected to our library where we can make sensory displays with our Cricut, play our white noise machine, and have relaxing smells. We also will provide technology with the Meta Quest 3 to enhance students learning.

By raising awareness about sensory sensitivities and providing resources to support individuals with sensory challenges, the Sensory Library will help promote understanding, acceptance, and empathy within our community. Thank you for considering our request. It is greatly appreciated.
