Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with students with special needs with Autism Spectrum Disorder being a predominant diagnosis. Every accomplishment that he or she reaches deserved to be celebrated! My students are loving, tenacious and simply awesome! My students' smiles and laughter bring sunshine on a cloudy day.

The donations of the materials that I have chosen will help to create a calming, relaxing , educational environment for students with special needs to learn as well as thrive in his or her unique abilities.

These sensory items will help the students learn more about their senses while creating a fun learning experience.

Many "age appropriate" academic task are very challenging. Each of these students can "shine" when given the appropriate resources.

My Project

Children with special needs learn best through hands on experiences. Hands on learning experiences are created in a sensory filled environment. Every child has his oh her unique ability to learn and grow. The various learning styles including tactile and kinesthetic learners benefit from a hands on and learning through movement. These items will help to create a positive learning experience that will ensure that the individual learning style of each student is enhanced, promoted and met. Please help me to promote academic, social and emotional success for these students.
